I despise conservative politics, but one thing you have to give them credit for is how surgically and strategically they operate.

An example is they understand you can't just kill public education, so they slowly decimate it w/ a thousand figurative cuts. 🧵👇🏾
Getting blocked today by someone who wants UBI (like I do) over sharing ideas for working towards while tackling homelessness, reminds me progressives need to work on transitionary strategy & communication.
Conservatives cut, cut, & cut.

Tactically.

There are times when they go straight for the kill, but for something significant they play chess.
Progressives need the same sophistication but the opposite approach.

Build, build, & build.

When it finally is feasible (financially or politically) to make the final leap, do it.
And just like conservatives, there are times when you can just skip all the transitioning and just implement an idea.

Universal childcare is a no brainer for progressives.

The conservative equivalency would be the $4.7 billion tax giveaway.
But there are many progressive ideals without the obvious upside to moderates. Some that just need more time to gather broad appeal. These are the ideas that will require transitionary building.
There's many more layers to strategy behind political tactics, but one thing is for damn sure, we can't expect to win in the political arena if we're bringing a super soaker to a tank fight.
We can't get offended at even the thought (let alone discussion) of transition tactics.

Strategy matters. They get it.

Why can't we?
