Tips for Healing + Alignment

Disclaimer: I am not an expert, this thread is simply what I have learned and what works *for me*. The journey in alignment is never over, so if you’re struggling please don’t feel discouraged. We all have our highs and lows.
Your chakras will flucuate throughout life so even if you were aligned at one point, you should still check in with yourself. How have you changed? What could you use work on? Make sure you’re keeping those chakras in check!💛
The Navel (aka. Solar Plexus) Chakra is located on the spine between the belly button and the solar plexus. During these exercises, make sure you’re focusing your energy to that area.
Meditation is key to opening any chakra. To assist your meditation, you can use mudras. For the Navel Chakra, you’ll want to use the Manipura Mudra. Touch your finger tips together and cross your thumbs (pictured)
During meditation, sit in whatever position is most comfortable for you. I like to sit on a yoga mat with my back against the wall for lumbar support.

If you can, sit outside with your back against a tree.

Make sure you’re comfortable, especially in the chakra location
Focus on your breathing. Allow your body to breathe as it naturally would and just feel your body take care of itself. Feel your breath move through your body from your mouth, to your throat, and into your lungs. Feel the energy from that breath expand into your belly.
As your breath touches your belly, feel how the energy is affecting your navel chakra. Imagine that breath spiraling around that chakra and energizing it.

Don’t make any changes to your breath, simply acknowledge how it moves naturally through your body.
When you are ready, make necessary changes to your breath to ensure it reaches your navel chakra. Breathe deeply and slowly, picturing the air enveloping the chakra with each inhale and exhale. Feel the energy move from the air into your body.
Make yourself aware of the energy from the earth. Feel your body against the ground and the energy the earth provides you through your roots. Feel that energy make its way from your root chakra, through your sacral chakra, and to your navel chakra meeting the energy from the air.

When you are feeling solid enough in your meditation, try chanting “RAHNG” with your natural exhale. Let your mouth linger in “ng” until it is time to inhale again. Don’t force the sound, simply let it escape your lips as your natural breath allows.
Yoga is also great for opening the chakras - here is a video I like for guided practice (any videos by @yogawithadriene are great)
Make sure that during your stretches, you are focusing your energy toward your navel chakra (just above the belly button).

Kapalabati
Pavritta Trikonasana
Bhujangasan
Sun Salutations!!!
Feel your core tighten during your stretches. Contract the muscles in your abdomen as you exhale. Relax with every inhale. This can be done outside of yogic practice as well.

You can also contract as you inhale, hold for the length of the inhale. Exhale and relax.
Aromatherapy can be helpful as well. For your Navel Chakra, use Manipura, lemongrass, lemon, coriander, fennel, clary sage, myrrh, lavender, bergamot, Rosemary, and cedar wood. These can be in the form of incense, candles, and essential oils.
The Navel Chakra is all about self esteem. It also happens to be ruled by fire.

If you can, build a small fire (a candle will work too) and set an intention for the fire to do away with negativity and self doubt.
Write down all of your insecurities (don’t do this if you feel it will be too triggering. You need to take care of yourself above all else) and literally burn them away in the fire. As the paper burns, picture that thought burning away in your mind.
Do this for any other negative thoughts, emotions, or events in your life. Burn away your bad habits.
When you build your fire, surround yourself with Navel crystals. I like Ametrine, Abalone Shell, Coquina Jasper, Ocean Jasper, Fire Opal, Sunstone, Tigers Eye, Yellow Aventurine, Honey Calcite, Peridot, Citrine, Golden Apatite, Amber, and Heliodor. Any yellow crystal works!
TW: abuse

People that have endured physical, mental, and emotional abuse often have trouble with this chakra because it is what controls how you heal from the past. If possible, seek therapy (mental health is most important).
Write a letter to your past self. Pick a specific time you were wronged/harmed as a child and write what that child needed to hear. Be the person your younger self needed. Allow yourself to heal from those incidents to be that person you needed.
List some things you love about yourself. As many as possible. Do this on low self confidence days.

On good days, write down whom you can credit or thank for helping you with your favorite qualities about yourself. Humility is important too.
Make a list of goals for yourself. Remind yourself that all of them are attainable. Create a step by step plan to achieve each and every one of them. When you complete a step, check it off the list
What are some positive things you accomplished, felt, witnessed, etc. recently?

How are you going to carry those feelings with you throughout the day?

Write out some intentions to carry these feelings with you throughout the week (or longer).
List some habits you would like to adopt. It takes about 40 days to fully adopt a habit, so do whatever you need to do to hold yourself accountable for those first 40 days. I recommend a daily checklist for this as well.
Tell yourself “I am calm”
“I am confident”
“I am powerful”
“I am motivated”
“I have a purpose”
“I am ambitious”
“I am capable”
“I forgive myself for past mistakes”
“I only need to control my own reactions”
“I can create positive change”
“I stand in my power”
