Tomorrow, my film PEOPLE releases on Vimeo. I have been trying for hours to add it to Letterboxd via @themoviedb. Despite the production taking 4 yrs and costing me personally hundreds of dollars, it keeps getting rejected because it's "amateur" even though no one has seen it. 1/
I tried to follow-up with with appeal and my TMDB was suspended! How can @themoviedb justify this treatment of indie filmmakers?
So, for now, I have no idea how or when it will ever be available for review on Letterboxd. My film from 5 years ago, "H", was also deleted. 2/

How can filmmakers like myself, and other extremely low budget filmmakers like Cody Clarke, Scott Barley and others expect to find internet exposure when we can't upload our entries to the internet's most popular indie film diary website? TMDB are tyrants.
Before he passed away, Eli Hayes was very vocal about his frustration with this issue. I understand him completely now - in fact, I can no longer find ANY copy at all of the film "Rising", on which he and I joyously collaborated. Absolutely sickening.
Andrey Iskanov's "Visions of Suffering" was produced for $200 and is not available to stream ANYWHERE on the internet legally. It is on LB/TMDB. My film costed me $350 and I am releasing it myself for free. Why is Iskanov's film more valid than mine according to @themoviedb?
The idea that a film should have to play at a film festival or premiere on non-internet VOD services to be allowed to @themoviedb is harmful and dishonest.
1) A film with any kind of clout will get more views on the internet streaming free than anywhere else. (ex. Prime!)

2) Everyone knows the difference between a narrative film and a simple "YouTube video."
David Lynch regularly releases short films exclusively to YouTube. Are they not films?
