A thread of 9 rappers that are underrated/unappreciated on here:
Murs: been a fan of his since I started to listen to hip hop back in 2007. His delivery and flow are so on point.

His best album: Brighter Daze (2019)

I'd recommend starting with: The End of the Beginning (2003)
Brother Ali: He's albino and converted to Islam at 13 when he met KRS-One during a lecture at a local University.

Many of his raps are about activism and social justice.

I recommend starting with: Shadows On The Sun (2003)
Juelz Santana: A part of the legendary Dipset crew. He was nominated for a Grammy in 2003 along with Cam'ron for Best Rap Performance by a duo or group.

His best album: What The Game's Been Missing (2005)

Underachievers: A New York based hip hop duo made up of Issa Gold & AK THE SAVIOR. They're sound is based around old school & psychedelic hip hop. Their music really helped me out personally

There best album: Evermore: The Art of Duality (2015)

Start with: Indigoism (2013)
Mick Jenkins: A Chicago based rapper with a perfect voice for rapping. He dropped off the best mixtapes of the 2010s.

His best album: Pieces of a Man (2019

I recommend starting with: The Water (S) (2014)
Slick Rick: A British-American rapper and producer who was raised in the Bronx. His storytelling is unmatched and raps effortlessly. From out the gate, his debut album went Platinum.

My favorite album: Behind bars (1994)

Start with: The Great Adventures of Slick Rick (1988)
Atmosphere: A hip hop duo from Minnesota consisting of rapper Slug and producer Ant. Since they formed in 1996, they've produced 9 studio albums.

Favorite album: When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold

I recommend starting with: God Love Ugly
Jedi Mind Tricks: an underground hip hop duo/trio consisting of producer Stoupe the Enemy of Mankind, rapper Vinnie Paz, and rapper Jus Allah.

They make 90s boom-bap type of music.

Favorite album: Violent By Design

Album to start out with: Visions of Gandhi
Dilated Peoples: A hip hop based in CA comprised of Rakaa Iriscience, Evidence, and DJ Babu. Their most notable song is "This Way" a collab with Kanye and John Legend.
