A short insight on City’s new Dutch centre back signed for a fee of £41m on a 5 year deal.

Let’s see if he’s worth a look at for our FPL squad 20/21.

DEFENSIVE DUTIES

- Although his defensive stats don’t look good. It’s clear to see why City bought him with high accuracy in his passing outlet.

- Keeping just 4 clean sheets all season, we have to consider he was in a poor team last season!

PLAYING TIME

- A lot of people believe he is a back up to Laporte. HOWEVER....

- His great passing ability at the back really favours Peps play style so depending how pre-season (or injuries) Aké could easily be put in the team come the start of the 20/21 season. 1/2

- It is rumoured Pep might move to a back 3 with Laporte, Garcia and Aké. If this happened Aké would be the LCB in that back 3. If this is the case, I’m interested and you should be too!

PRICE

- I price Ake at £5.5m. This is because he is a CB, who are usually cheaper than their full back partners.

- But we have to consider he will be at City so the potential for CS returns is high!

CONCLUSION

- He is in a City team so there is always potential for rotation.

- That being said, if Pep plays 3 at the back, Aké will start and he definitely needs to be considered for your team.
