STORY TIME

Few days back, my room's AC wasn't working. So I called the technician from a company. He repaired it and AC started working well. Accordingly I paid him for the services and he left.

After a few days, the refrigerator also stopped working. I called another technician from the same company. He repaired it & charged for his services, but the fridge stopped working again. This angered me. I called him, held him and the company accountable for poor services ! 2/n
They were kind enough to repair the refrigerator again and even said sorry. They didn't charge extra. The matter got over. However the real story starts now. Continue reading. 3/n
Now consider this situation
1. The company above is government we elected.
2. The technicians are politicians.
3. The damaged items are problems in our country.
4. The charges we paid are the taxes we pay. 4/n
Now you'll see that Government we elected is nothing but service providers we chose. We definitely should expect them to serve as per our needs. We need to acknowledge but NOT glorify their good services because that is their job and we hired them for this. 5/n
But when the services are not upto the mark or faulty, we should SURELY hold them accountable and ask them for mending their ways.

This brings me to BHAKTI in politics. Politicians (of any party) are not above us. They are serving us because we chose them to REPRESENT US. 6/n
Politicians are neither the owners of a nation nor our masters. We definitely have a right to expect best of services and we definitely have a right to hold them accountable whenever the need arises. 7/n
I'll end my story with quote by Dr. BR Ambedkar

"Bhakti in religion may be a road to salvation of soul. But in politics, bhakti or hero worship is sure road to degradation and to eventual dictatorship."

PS

This thread is for all politicians and political parties (in any democracy of the world) because Bhakti remains the same, but the "Gods or heroes" change.
So do not get offended owing to your political affiliations. đź’†
