Oh boy, do I have a few thoughts about the curriculum, first, off we're back to the bias non-issue, @AdrianaLaGrange the "curriculum bias" issue, is not a curriculum bias as you yourself admitted that it was teacher by teacher, therefore the curriculum is not the issue
Secondly, the chair of the panel disparaging history profs in particular as discouraging numeracy in schools is complete bs. My mother is a history prof, I grew up in the History and Classics department at UofA, that was never, and has never been the thought of history profs
Thirdly I find the panel chairs characterization of students under the old curriculum as crooks, liars, and sloths, in what universe is that appropriate, stop proliferating this, it is damaging to students, and disrespectful to educators across Alberta.
Used car sales is not an appropriate gauge for education (wow who knew) and claiming that students under the old curriculum are dishonest is as equally innapropriate as the aforementioned comments
I am all for helping students experience workplace environments, but not if that is based off of this assumption that young people are all unwilling to engage with them, looking down on students as inherintly lazy is not conducive to healthy learning
I feel like this whole exercise has been a completely ideologically driven waste of time, when the hard work of hundreds of teachers across Alberta was just thrown out the window, way to support educatiors @AdrianaLaGrange #abed #abpoli #Ableg
