Working nights and weekends on a side business = building a path to independence.

This mindset helped me go independent. I worked hard and focused in my full time gig for years. Was promoted from dev to senior dev to architect to principal. But I didn’t do overtime. I used my free time to build my training and consulting business.

I used paid vacation time to record courses and travel to client sites to lead on site training. I took unpaid time to scale my side business. When I had saved a nest egg and the biz paid more than my full time job, I decided it was time to go independent.
