aka countries that condemn China's policies while also administering torture camps and killing Muslim civilians in orgies of violence on the regular https://twitter.com/BBCNews/status/1289649696072273920
I want to clear up something about this "cultural genocide" which is the go to wording since they can't prove anything concrete. The only "cultural genocide" in xinjiang is what the US-backed imported ETIM terrorism is trying to do by killing 1000+ uyghurs in terror attacks
and stabbing uyghur imams to death for not following their particular brand of Islam. These people despise uyghur culture. Yet rather than blowing up the entire extended family of suspected terrorists in drone strikes like British and Americans do, China chose deradicalization.
This is only horrifying to the west because it completely deligitimizes the justification for the west's decades of crimes against humanity in the middle east, in addition to thwarting the timeless western strategy of weaponizing religious fundamentalists for imperialism.
Genocide is obviously not the exclusive purview of the west but it is a western specialty, and all instances cited here lead invariably back to them.
Just something to consider when so-called British "socialists" (don't laugh!) think you are propagandized enough by sinophobia to begin whitewashing British imperialism as a fucking "lesser evil"
in actuality, the Uyghur people are being terrorized by the united states to access the resources of xinjiang and derail the belt & road initiative https://twitter.com/novaramedia/status/1290974382144327680?s=20
of course, it's more complicated. there are socioeconomic factors that made people amenable to brother-killing radicalism, but thats really no different from the 'economic anxiety' explanation of mass shootings in the US.
ultimately they chose to pursue that path and have to be dealt with thru deradicalization and changing the conditions, which is exactly what china has been doing. something imperialists whose only language is extermination can never do.
