Dear Canadians,

Please ask your leaders to stop trying to shoot us, arrest us, erase us, and remove us from our lands. If all we ever see from Canadian authorities is violence then are we to assume that this is the language of your nation?
Yesterday your police violently invaded a peaceful reclamation at #1492LandBackLane led by young Indigenous women and men from several Haudenosaunee clan families and their supporters. I am asking you to check your state leaders and to stop this cycle of violence.
The people of Caledonia, Ontario, or Canada may want to strip the farms from the back of our Mother for endless urban sprawl to make into more of your money, but it is unkind to do this on territory promised to the people of Six Nations by your government.
We people of Six Nations are nations - as the Haudenosaunee Confederacy we have our own language, culture, laws, and way of being that pre-dates Canada.
We have a consistent value set that centres on thankfulness for the richness provided by the natural world. Our ways have values that differ from your peoples values, but you have always said you respect those differences even if your leaders actions have shown something else.
Until yesterday at 11am I thought the solution involved room for talking, but it is clear that your leadership doesn’t give a shit about the way it defrauded the Six Nations people and dispossessed young people of their future homes.

I am asking you to listen.
We have a responsibility to the faces in the earth coming after us. We want to leave our lands, our culture, our rich way of being strong for the coming generations. We want to practice peace, power, and good mindedness forever.
You have surrounded territory promised to our people, you have installed governments that don’t listen, you have stood idly by while your police solve problems more complex than they can handle.
Please stop this. Try peace, respect, and then friendship. It is how your people promised to be with my people.
