You assume that everyone wanted to get off the Titanic, but having observed people faced with crises in recent times I have revised the passenger demographic:
20% of passengers acknowledge the imminent threat and want to be saved.
15% insist there is no iceberg. It's a hoax.
5% say there is an iceberg but it's only the size of a choc-ice and has been greatly exaggerated.
10% say the Chinese and/or Russian secret services put the iceberg there.
10% say the British government and/or the BBC put the iceberg there.
10% blame liberals, Europeans, and minorities in any combination, for what they're not entirely sure.
15% say making life vests compulsory impinges on their freedom, therefore the captain is a fascist.
5% say the lifeboats do not contain the en suite facilities they paid for, so refuse to leave.
10% insist they can pilot a ship better than the expert crew, despite having no experience, and the nearest they have been to correctly knotting a rope is using dental floss.
