Recent comments made by Nikola executives @nikolatrevor and Mark Russell made me curious about the current state of their Iveco Ulm, Germany factory. Almost 3 months ago, Trevor said the Ulm factory is almost done. I therefore went digging... #nikolaTre #iveco

I found 17 job offerings on a German jobsite for the Nikola Iveco joint-venture that were posted about a week ago. The company that posted it was "Nikola Iveco Europe GmbH"

In Germany all GmbH (similar to a LLC) are to be registered with a federal "Handelsregister" but I was unable to find a registration for "Nikola Iveco Europe GmbH". Maybe somebody else can find it, I couldn't. I therefore wonder if that company even exists...

I contacted the person listed on the job ad and asked for some information about Nikola Iveco Europe GmbH and the exact address. I got an interesting response from someone at Iveco/CNH. ->

"...The first positions are currently being filled and construction of the production line has begun. All of this is then located on our Iveco Magirus AG factory premises in Ulm.
The exact address is then Nicolaus-Otto-Str. 27 in Ulm."

This all doesn't sound like that factory is almost done. I'm happy to be proven wrong but this seems to be just another puzzle of a vaporware business plan. I guess we shall see in a "couple months" as Trevor likes to say.

this is what's written in their 10-Q:
"In 2019, we partnered with Iveco, a subsidiary of CNHI, to manufacture the Nikola Tre BEV truck at the Iveco manufacturing plant in Ulm, Germany through a JV with CNHI, which is expected to commence operations in the third quarter of 2020."

Update from Iveco Germany:
“Nikola Iveco Europe GmbH” does not exist yet but they expect to get it established later this month. First key positions are to be filled by early Q4, maybe earlier.”
