1/8 @shandro, @SteveBuick2 , @tarajago and @jkenney has stopped calling @albertadoctors Dr. They refer to us as high wage earners. This is so disrespectful because it implies we don’t deserve what we earn.

2/8 In the OR today, one of the nurses was back to work after 6 weeks off for a fracture. Doctors don’t get sick time. When I ruptured my achilles tendon, I took 2 weeks off because I was not allowed to put any weight on my foot, but I wore a cast for 6 weeks after surgery.

3/8 To get around in clinic, I rolled around on a wheeled chair for weeks 3-6. Why did I do this? Most patients booked in the weeks after my injury had waited more than 6 months to see me. We make so many sacrifices for patients, which means we work very hard. #ABdocs4patients

4/8 @shandro @tarajago @SteveBuick2 @jkenney @albertadoctors don't get sick time. We don't get time off to mourn the passing of friends and family. We don't even get time off to care for our sick children.
