Hezbollah benefits from, and therefore feeds into, Lebanon's nepotistic system, whose corruption and incompetence led it to neglect a timebomb in heart of Beirut. But, based on available concrete (as opposed to circumstantial) evidence, hard to say it's Hezb's ammonium nitrate https://twitter.com/AlirezaNader/status/1291050282399473664
2-In this specific instance, it would seem Hezbollah is indeed part of the problem that plagues Lebanon, but no more so than any of the other incompetent and neglectful officials that did nothing about this for years.
3-Hezb tries to present themselves as cut from a different cloth, incorruptible, uniquely concerned for Lebanon's safety, dignity, sovereignty (hence their argument for pvt arsenal) -- what this conclusively demonstrates, at least, is they're just as bad as all the others
4-I can't imagine Hezbollah wasn't at least aware of presence of this stash at Beirut Port. Yet still they did nothing, not even a media campaign -- they were too busy fighting Iran regime's propaganda/physical wars, and politically hobbling Lebanon to advance Tehran's interests
5-Their obstructionism drains Lebanon's vitality, leaves the country w/little time or resources to deal w/its real problems -- to serve a foreign power.

The Lebanese people, including their own base, simply aren't their priority.
