A thread talking about things I love in series I love!
I feel like I don't often compliment all my favorite series and talk about aspects of them that I really enjoy, so I want to change that.
I'm going to try to talk about a series a day, but that may fluctuate.

1. One Piece
One Piece is my favorite series for a lot of reasons. It really exudes the feeling of adventure and is genuinely a very fun and enjoyable series. Oda has created a series and world with such a large scale, and he does a fantastic job handling it.

One thing that I feel goes underappreciated about One Piece is the way Oda thematically connects various arcs to make for a richer story. An example of this is how Luffy is seen as "God's" natural enemy in the Skypeia and Dressrosa arcs, and likely the endgame as well.
2. Attack on Titan
AOT was my first ever anime and manga. Isayama has crafted an intricate plot that reinvents itself several times while remaining true to its roots. Isayama's foreshadowing and recontextualizing is unparalleled, and each rewatch/reread reveals new insights.

AOT has gone from a giant zombie show to a mystery show to a political thriller to something way bigger [insert manga spoilers], yet it is all remarkably consistent in its themes (i.e. freedom and the world being cruel). I am very thankful to AOT for my love of anime/manga.
