Today I'm polishing up the demo app for SpaceMVC.

It's basic and allows you to manage a student roster for a hypothetical class.

Over time it's going to become a real software dev course and there will be #crypto rewards as you complete exercises.

THREAD
You'll have to get someone further along in the course to sign off that you completed the exercise. That will unlock the tokens.

The tokens are useful inside our community and they'll be used a bunch in the app itself. Also it just feels nice to earn something.
I also have some ideas how we can insert real world value into these tokens over time. Very open to your ideas also.

For kids it could be a program similar to the Pizza Hut Book-It program. Go through some lessons, earn some tokens, go use the tokens at participating sponsors.
For adults the same concept could also work. In addition I have some ideas for how they can be the fuel in a self-propelled recruiting ecosystem. #ethereum $LINK
The software development course will prepare people for engineer roles building #ethereum and #ipfs distributed applications.

As you complete each milestone you'll be rewarded tokens. So will your instructor.

When you complete all the milestones you'll work with recruiters.
When you find a job the recruiting fees will be turned into a stablecoin and distributed to all the token holders.

So as people find jobs EVERYONE who has ever taken the course or helped someone else will get paid.

Get paid to learn. Get paid to teach.
#chainlink will be in there somewhere. Doing stuff. $LINK
When people get stuck on things maybe they can post questions with a bounty. Out of the tokens they already earned.

Then whoever helps out gets a reward.

The further up the ladder you escalate the problem the higher the bounty gets.
Recruiters will get tokens too. Trying to figure out how that part will work.

The reward structure will be decided by the DAO.

So it's also a governance token. Token holders set the rules.
Contributing to curriculum will get tokens.

Helping guide students through any prerequisite classes will get tokens.

Students are paid to help each other.

The entire ecosystem will be incentivized this way.
One instructor should be able to handle an ENORMOUS amount of students because

1. Mostly self-directed with financial rewards.

2. Get help from peers first. Costs tokens to escalate.

3. All the students are ALSO TAs.

4. By the time any questions make it to you shit is on 🔥
It might be in the best interest of the ecosystem to take the recruiting money and buy the token off the market and burn it.

Instead of distributing a stablecoin.

Similar effect but we keep the value inside the ecosystem.
With new tech the mechanics of paying for a "bounty" are way simpler.

Probably as easy as tagging a question+25 or whatever in discord and then when someone helps you can tag everyone and they all get tokens.
Would love to work existing open source educational resources into this framework.

Maybe something like @khanacademy
Do you like this idea @Consensys?
One thing I like is that there's zero need for outside interest to give the token value.

That's what the recruiting burns do. We buy the top of the market and burn it.

This creates a baseline of value that's relative to the actual successful people get trained and employed.
This entire process could even be PRIVATE since no one outside the system has to be involved.
One possibly fatal problem is that as the system gets more efficient the placement fees might get lower.

Which would remove the external profit.

My guess is that we'll want to manufacture some level of scarcity into the system. Being in control of a system like that has value.
Also keeping people honest is hard.

Most of my ideas center around putting up a stake that can be slashed if you're dishonest.

What that means in practice I'm not sure yet.
Which learning management system has the best UX? #uxdesign
This system could also automate a company's internal training systems and create a sense of real buy-in.

Suddenly their training has real value associated with it.
It also makes the "reward employees for training" accounting SUPER simple.

Basically a single line item for your entire training program.
As a prototype I'm going to build the open source http://javascript.info  course into this structure.

So it'll be a course that rewards you in tokens for going through these exercises and learning #javascript.

The token holders will govern the system.

https://javascript.info/
There will be 20 seats available in the class.

When you sign up you'll be given the option to include a bid for your seat.

The 20 highest bids will be chosen. The $ETH will be used to buy tokens off the market and we'll burn them.

If everyone bids $0...it's all free.
Now we're applying pressure to the value of the token in more than one place.
Also as a participant you'll be rewarded tokens as you progress.

So it's possible even if the price is fairly high that you finish with something that you value more.

Also you'll know stuff which is super valuable. Also you didn't have to pay a million dollars for college.
Hello @BarackObama please look at my plan to pay people to learn to be software engineers.
Once we have the prototype in place it can be modified to apply to ANY learning process.
Hello @AndrewYang could you please ask Obama to look at my plan to pay people to learn javascript?
This can turn into an automated waitlist where people just place their highest bid and wait until a seat frees up.

An automated auction will make it fair and optimize it so no one pays more than they have to.
Hello @VitalikButerin I think I can train a million ethereum developers this way.

I mean probably not all at once.
Please let Obama know.
