I miss being able to go places. So it’s the first of the month, and A is the first letter of the alphabet, so here is a place I went that starts with the letter A. Austin, TX.
I miss being able to go places. So it’s the 2nd day of the month, and B is the 2nd letter of the alphabet, so here is a place I went that starts with the letter B. Bologna, Italy.
August 3 means letter C. Where have you gone that started with the letter C? I’ve got a few, but I’m going with Cartagena, on the Caribbean Sea. Going places was such a cool thing.
4th day of the month. 4th letter. D is for Distrito Federal, aka Mexico City. Amazing food, people, history, art, and architecture. Remember what it was like to go places? Where have you traveled to that starts with the letter D?
Day 5 = E, as in East, as in East Berlin. It’s now the cool side of the city, with its squatters-gone-yuppie; Soviet landmarks; and now-chic lack of progress providing a window to the past. Where did you go that starts with the letter E?
It’s August 6 and the 6th letter of the alphabet is F. Back when we went places, I went to Fez and Florence, but today F is for Fremont, OH, my home away from home. It has the Rutherford B Hayes Presidential Center, and literally nothing else.
August 7, so it’s G, as in Georgia! It’s a state where everything’s peachy all the time. Why does Marietta produce so many gay men who move to NYC and break my heart? Where have you visited that begins with the letter G? Remember way back, when we could travel…
Day 8 = H, as in Hiroshima. We are now 75 years and 2 days since the bomb. Hiroshima is a beautiful city and was my favorite place in Japan. Where did you go that began with the letter H back when we could go places?
