TESTING (a thread)

i think “TESTING” was the perfect name for Rockys 3rd studio album. Rocky was “testing” with new sounds and ideas .. it was not what fans had come to expect from his last 2 albums LLA and ALLA and some were disappointed...

Flacko creates a cloudy rap atmosphere with his production (excellently imo) this was a risk for him. This was his way of drifting over to a new unique style without completely diminishing his old one which is hard for an artist to do smoothly..

the album was more creative and artistic for Rocky as he put his lyricism to the side and “tested” a new style.. the production is extremely interesting and diverse and also sometimes minimal that you’ll pick up on new stuff each time u listen..

TESTING isn’t completely phenomenal but it is intriguing and filled with ideas and imo an inside view of Rockys mind. ideas r never organised perfectly (or organised at all) and r often loose which i think is shown in the inconsistent tracklist.

TESTING shows Flacko cannot be kept to one “style” of music, it has a lot of ambition and is extremely experimental and outside the box for him. This was also the first album from Rocky that wasn’t produced by Yams so this may show the direction HE wants to go with his production

and as we’ve come to expect from Flacko the album contains amazing tracks (won’t go into detail) such as : fukk sleep, purity and kids turned out fine, praise the lord etc .. the list goes on and on.

in conclusion TESTING was Rockys way of trying out a new style moving from a smooth lyrical style of rap to a more cloudy rap using unique and interesting production to create his own atmosphere and vibe which worked brilliantly imo

this is just my opinion and “review” on TESTING .. i would love to hear what u think about this :) <3 ( about to get violently aired)
