Another successful @CISAgov “TableTop the Vote” in the books! Yesterday marked the end of the our annual TTX that brings together state, local, and fed officials alongside private sector partners to game out election security scenarios and test response plans.
Thx to @NASSorg @NASEDorg @EAC @FBI @US_CYBERCOM @NSACyber @ODNIgov and a whole bunch of others for joining us in this timely effort.

What you’re seeing is a robust community of practice - all 50 states and the entire USG NatSec team - hard at work to #Protect2020.
The community has ramped up efforts over the last few years to improve the cybersecurity of State and local election systems across the Nation. Patching is ⬆️, systems are🔒, detection systems are deployed, incident response plans in place! Still more to do in the coming months
We’ve also seen innovation in election admin during COVID, with some examples in the Innovative Practices and New Solutions guide. Vote centers, ticketing and reservations, drive thru voting, and “teller” set ups. https://www.eac.gov/sites/default/files/electionofficials/inpersonvoting/innovative_practices_and_new_solutions.pdf
And regardless of what’s happened in the last few months, we know there’s risk in all forms of voting & the associated infrastructure/systems, what we’re focused on is helping state and local election officials implement the right cyber and physical security controls.
Our top line goal is crystal clear - American voters are able to decide American elections. Full stop.

Voters have a crucial role over the next few months. Do your part and be a “Three P” Voter What’s that mean? Prepared, Participating, and Patient.
First, be a Prepared voter. Have an election plan so you can take advantage of changes like early voting or expanded absentee so you can vote safely! @EACgov has great info to get you started: https://www.eac.gov/sites/default/files/eac_assets/1/28/Voter'sGuide%5B8%5D_5081.pdf
Second, be a Participating voter. You might have heard there’s a nationwide poll worker shortage due concerns w/ COVID-19. If you’re able to do so, sign up to help out! Again, @EACgov has all the info you need https://www.eac.gov/voters/become-poll-worker
Third, be a Patient voter. Some states might get called on Election Day, others might take some time, but keep in mind those are unofficial results. Certified & official results take time! Listen to your State and local election officials #TrustedInfo2020
Election Day and after is also a prime time for foreign actors to create confusion. Don’t let them get to you! https://www.cisa.gov/sites/default/files/publications/19_1115_cisa_nrmc-Disinformation-Stops-With-You_0.pdf
Oh yeah, one more thing: #WearAMask - my mask protects you, your mask protects me. Let’s do this!
