As someone whose family has a host of women with these issues, sticking to a traditional diet with vegetables and lentils and whole grain is what helped them. Eliminating processed food is important. https://twitter.com/margaritaevna95/status/1287808201862328320
This was really insane when I observed this, but those in my family who took to Maggi and Rasna in the nineties (and all the other associated processed food) were the ones who have more health issues.

Diabetes, arthritis, gut issues, PCOS, fibroids, and even premature greying.
Paati OTOH has had the same diet for ninety years, reduced food intake gradually after age 30, never missed an ekadashi, and has never touched a noodle or pizza.

And she bullies us about how crap our blood reports are compared to hers.
My other paati was diabetic AF because famine genetics. She ate like a maniac and lived 80+. Because she only made sweets in fresh ghee, had only the best ingredients, and didn't care for the crap food restaurants served.
The common denominator for people across cultures who live long and well is they
* Avoid processed food
* Are very physically active
* Don't stress out over small things.

Doesn't matter if you eat steak or lentils. Just don't eat maida.
Also don't change your diet to things alien to you all the time, especially after a certain age. That really fucks with your gut bacteria. Especially since you aren't familiar with the culture around that food, i.e. how often you eat it, healthy ways to cook it, things like that.
