Okay...

I think Netflix should buy TikTok. More thoughts coming on this soon😉 https://twitter.com/CGasparino/status/1289254703705075722
Netflix's ambition is to become TV. And I think TikTok is essentially TV for your phone. I'm probably under-selling what TikTok could become, but it feels more like a media company than a social network.
Netflix recently mentioned TikTok as a competitor for the first time. In the past, they've cited Fortnite, Sleep and YT as competitors. YT dominates mobile time spent and both it and TikTok are eating into Netflix's share. Hastings has said 'Can we be as big as YT' before....
That's going to be hard to do if you're buying and making content yourself. TikTok can help fill that gap.

Don't think Netflix will ever introduce ads to core service, but TikTok would be its ads version and help grow the user base.
Netflix is in the 'Internet Television' market and you can't leave out Mobile from that definition. Maybe Quibi is onto something. TikTok is definitely native video for mobile right now. And maybe it becomes native television for Mobile. Netflix should be here somewhere.
It will cost a lot, tho! I'm hearing $50B as the latest asking price. TikTok 2019 revenues were like ~$500M, so that's a rich multiple. Netflix def. doesn't have the cash for this. Cash on hand is ~$5B and they're already holding >$10B in debt.
Regardless, I think TikTok x Netflix is a way better combo than MSxTT.

Ideally, I'd like to see them as a standalone US company if they're forced to make a move. It's a fantastic app and I love seeing some competition for consumer attention and advertiser dollars.
