So I've gotten the green light from the execs to go into a bit more detail about the #EOSIO protocol level changes that @ultra_io has been working on. If you haven't read it yet, jump on over to here and see what all the fuss is about. https://bit.ly/2PpzosB

THREAD #uos #ultra
FREE ACCOUNTS - @ultra_io's blockchain solution is reserving enough RAM to ensure that each user who creates an Ultra account will have a free blockchain account associated with it.
FREE TRANSACTIONS - @ultra_io has been watching what is going on in the market and understand that we can not ask users to pay transaction fees like on #Ethereum or deal with complex staking requirements like on the #EOS Mainnet
Within a reasonable scope, users who haven't staked enough resources (POWER) will be able to push transactions into the queue while there is available capacity. There is a complicated (and secret :)) algorithm which manages this queue. It's quite beautiful.
We've taken into account the security implications of this (spamming the network) and have a neat solution for that. I can't really talk about that :) yet.
SIMPLIFIED RESOURCES - We've identified that resource management is a distinct weakness on the #EOS Mainnet, and other sister chains. Users find #staking confusing. It is hard to calculate how much you need to perform the transactions you want to do.
Part of the #Ultra solution has been to simplify the CPU/NET resource twin into one called POWER. Users only need to deal with one resource on our #blockchain if they want to perform a lot of transactions which might require it. This is for you, developers <3
Users who don't want to deal with staking, won't have to. We got you, fam.
KEY MANAGEMENT - This, especially with my experience at @Get_Scatter, is one of the things that I am most excited about. @ultra_io has an elegant solution for key management that brings it on par with how we are used to managing our usual logins and passwords, but...
at the same time, allows the user to fully retain their keypair locally. That means that #Ultra is non-custodial (we don't hold your keys, you do) and at the same time we aren't asking users to manually manage their keys (but they can if they want, using a wallet like #Scatter)
The effect of this is that YOU are signing your own transactions on Ultra, and YOU are in charge of your assets. But, we won't make you do it alone. Ultra is here to simplify the current headache that managing keys requires.
Basically, I'm super excited to be able to share some of what the team has been building for the past few months (years) and can't wait to tell you guys more when the time comes.
