Please, just have a consistent comms strategy, hire someone who knows how to write strong slogans and how to use them effectively, I'm begging you
It's just.

You've put the rhyme at the middle of the slogan.
It's in 4 parts, rather than 3, like every other slogan so far.
It's incredibly vague - these are statements, not calls to action. Apart from the last one. Which is still.. Vague.
It's non-quantifiable.
It's also so, so open to parody, but so has every other piece of comms that they've put out about this
I'm gonna break it down bit by bit.
HANDS.
Alright. So we KNOW this means 'wash your hands'. Or maybe 'use hand sanitiser'. Or is it telling us to not touch things lots? Is it about my hands, or other peoples hands?
What other connotations does this have - being handsy? Holding hands? Handing off responsibility?
FACE.
'Cover your face' is PROBABLY what this means. Or maybe 'don't touch your face'. Or 'face the facts' and look at the impact of this virus. Or 'let's face the music and dance'. But don't dance. Dancing is bad. Probably.
Definitely doesn't mean 'facing the consequences'.
SPACE.
Surely, SURELY, this means keep your space from others. Keep your distance. How much distance? 1m? 2m? More? Is it about meeting people in an open space? Getting more space in your relationship? Going to space? Can Covid 19 exist in space? Would we be safer there?
GET A TEST.
Great! Thanks, Boris! I'm asymptomatic... When should I get a test? When I show symptoms? When someone I've seen shows symptoms? How do I do this? How regularly do I do this? Is this a comprehension test for the whole nation? Is it graded? Have I passed?
It's very noncommittal. Maybe it sounds 'versatile' because these six words cover so many bases, but it's having the opposite effect - it's confusing and opaque.

Yet again, more convoluted comms, so when it fails, blame can be placed back on the general public.
