Today is the 103rd anniversary of the first day of 3rd Ypres - better known as Passchendaele. Much like other battles of the FWW, it was not just one days worth of fighting and continued for 3.5 months and is believed to have caused around half a million casualties. (1/3)
Much like my thread of casualties killed during the Battle of the Somme from my town, I have decided to do a thread for those killed during 3rd Ypres. The threads are my way of remembering these men's names, as they may not have been published in this way before. (2/3)
For this thread, I start with the man who was killed on the first day of the offensive:
Pte William Henry Taylor - 20 years old - 1st Bn Worcestershire Regiment - Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery (3/3)
