I have completed almost a month as Chairperson, Delhi Commission For Protection of Child Rights ( @DCPCR), Government of Delhi and hence sharing the key highlights of our work theme-wise.
Child Labour: @DCPCR has made on-record solemn commitment to eliminate (not just reduce, but eliminate) menace of child labour from Delhi. Have begun process of evolving comprehensive, concerted & coordinated strategy. Will publish operational plan in <8 weeks for public review
[Child Labour]

In the last 2-3 weeks, @DCPCR has worked closely with @DelhiPolice, SDMs, Labour Department, and NGOs like @BBAIndia and rescued 25 children labours from various factories, and shops. Have ensured that SDMs seal 12 such factories/shops & penalties imposed on all
[Child Labour]

Last year, to encourage @DCPCR citizens' reporting of child labour, we announced a financial incentive of upto Rs. 10,000/- for children successfully labour rescued on such information. This will encourage stronger and localised reporting. Details attached.

There is a need to make fundamental shift in our strategy and priortise prevention. Nearly all children are enrolled in schools & if their attendance is <50%, we shall assume the child is facing an adverse situation & proceed to find and fix it before it compounds
