There’s always nuance and in this case it’s a load of testosterone filled 20 somethings with wealth beyond their dreams wanting to show it off. No sweat on that, I was (well, still am) a knobhead then too and happy to show off any latest thing that came my way.
The players are however heavily invested into by a fanbase, many of whom consider themselves a paying customer. In times of widespread strife he’s on the back of being paid that wealth for being a particularity disappointing cog in an awful machine that’s just finished midtable.
No one would deny a gratuitous holiday shot or travel but the private jet and Rolls Royce keenly positioned not only make you look a twat, but someone who’s acutely unaware of fan sentiment. Ultimately it’s his choice but he’s either being poorly advised or just a downright tit.
Stuff like this and Delph’s early season interaction with a fan while being a disappointing perma injured bell just grows disconnect between the fans and both players and club. Anyway I’ve just done a multi tweet analysis of a player going on holiday so need a pint in town.
