On a 3mo. trip to Southeast Asia I made friends with some girls in the red light district. Each night, in the the middle of our conversations, men would walk up and purchase them for a night (less than $20USD) ...
Late at night I saw trucks packed full of broken-looking people returning from days of work in mines and sweatshops. My friend explained to me that they were trafficked from Myanmar to work in factories and complete dangerous jobs.
In Cambodia I saw emaciated children on their way to work in garment factories to produce clothing.
For #humantraffickingawarenessday I encourage you to

1. PRAY for those being exploited

2. consider the faces behind the labels of the products you purchase, and realize that each time you support a corrupt brand you are financially voting “yes, I support these practices”
It’s easy to imagine these atrocities happening only overseas, but human trafficking is a reality that is perpetuated by greed and apathy worldwide.
