In the aftermath of the 2016 DNC, he pushed the Texans for Bernie group to setup fundraising as a PAC so as to funnel money to his own race - much to the chagrin of staff/vols. He was eventually sent a cease & desist letter
As a candidate, his staff would often have to corral him from social media so as to stop him from making ridiculous statements (much like the aforementioned one); they ended up taking control of his social media entirely in 2016 & 2018.
Staff that went unpaid, I should add, after promises of paychecks that went unfulfilled.
After Derrick Crowe announced he was running for the district in 2017, Tom began going around calling him a "Pelosi candidate...who doesn't stand a chance in the general election". Derrick is firmly part of the left wing of the Party, and yet Tom ...

After attending a progressive conference, he stated multiple times that he intended to leave the Democratic Party and either start his own, or run as an independent, and yet, when it was all said & done, he filed for Governor as a Democrat in 2017.
When he came to Dallas in 2018 (after skipping the only txgov dem debate at SMU in Feb '18), I attempted to ask him about these bc I was genuinely an undecided voter in that primary. He ignored me. He also came up here with Sema Hernandez, who voted for Trump in 2016 ...
... and who personally said I was on the "Clinton Payroll" when I confronted her in 2016 over Trump's Islamophobia, amongst other things. The company you keep...
TL;DR: Vote for @wendydavis; Tom Wakely isn't a "progressive" - he's a fraud.
