OR Innocence Project, Brown Hope, Don’t Shoot Portland, Oregon Justice Resource Center, CAIR Oregon, Portland Freedom Fund, Self Enhancement Inc, Q Center, Lines for Life, Urban League, APANO, Sisters of the Road, Village Coalition, are all non profits. Forming one is not evil.
Like these and so many other groups do such amazing work. I am honored to be Board President if @BrownHopeOrg as we work with @blackresiliency. I was honored to work at New Avenues for Youth impacting youth everyday and getting dozens of kids their GED.
In Atlanta I worked for the largest housing non profit helping people living with HIV get into housing everyday. For anyone to tell you that forming a non profit is inherently bad is either lying, a bad actor, doesn’t know, or is here just for the drama.
I’m not saying you have to be a non profit, many groups aren’t. I am saying that incorporating as a form of accountability is not inherently bad. And anyone willing to work for the betterment of others deserves phone calls instead of call outs.
This same reasoning was used for RCJ being evil and im not involved in all the conspiracies or harm caused but I am just saying, forming a non profit is not bad and when you have a lot of money and people yelling at you sometimes you just incorporate. It makes sense.
And a lot of this is people mad they didn’t raise the money, or they weren’t the recipients of the money. Go raise money then if you’re so worried about it. If you didn’t donate, then it’s not hurting you.
