Congressman John Lewis, in his sweet, humble and kind way, let it be known that there are Americans who will defend their rights and liberties to the death. He walked the walk. People all over the nation saw it throughout his life, and more importantly, have been listening.
Real US presidents were on display today to honor an American hero and legend. America needed to hear from them. It was a beautiful thing, fitting of an American hero.

President Obama eulogized Congressman Lewis powerfully, thoughtfully, and movingly today.
But just as importantly, he gave a tremendous boost to one of Mr. Lewis' last wishes by filling the role as the commanding Field Marshal inspiring legions of democrats onto the battlefield to vote and take back American democracy.
More that anyone on earth, Obama brings out the insecurity, fear, smallness, divisiveness and treachery of Donald Trump, and he did it without ever mentioning his name.
Despite all of Trump's lies, tricks propaganda and chicanery, Trump should be terrified because Obama was correct in everything he said. All Americans of good faith and conscience know that, too.
What President Obama said today was that must continue and when it comes to getting into "good trouble," we're here for it. More than anyone in recent history, Obama can inspire people to respond. But it's not just Obama's responsibility.
It belongs to all of us, so it's up to us to do something about it.

All day today Mr. Lewis has been quoted saying, "democracy is not a state, it's an action." Even in his grave, Congressman Lewis Mr. Lewis we need to do whatever it takes to make him proud.
