The saga continues with my @tortillacoast landlord (Midwood- based in NYC).

Here is the story- He lied to us about how he contacted us a month ago. He claims he left a message at two of the restaurants even though all communication had been via email and cell.
He had countered a pandemic reasonable offer with a disengenous offer where we would have to guarantee 3-4 million in rent. We were currently only on hook for 30k.
Trying to tie the bow neatly, we offered another deal that allowed both sides to exit and to pay albeit minimal rent on minimal sales while Midwood found a new tenant at an astronomical fee of 400k+ per year. (Not gonna happen - there is a pandemic destroying the industry).
But not to be. Some landlords want to win every dime. He wanted modifications and more money.

So I told him no. NO.

I’m not negotiating with landlords who want every last dime. Every guarantee. Every last word.
Until they evict (which isn’t even possible now), my @tortillacoast team will be chilling, maintaining 6 feet, wearing masks, and selling tacos. 🌮.
So on the plus side, come on down to Capitol Hill and enjoy some queso, guac, and margaritas. 👍 🥑
We aren’t going anywhere for awhile.
And here is a bacon photo.
