what's the point of this kind of concern trolling? why not use your platform to tell your audiences that the count is going to take a while and that it isn't a sign of illegitimacy? is the proposed alternative here just to not count all the votes?
people like Byron York and Philip Klein are not, in fact, helping to ease the "ugliness" of the post-election counting process by yelling about how nobody's going to trust it. they are *creating* that ugliness, every bit as much as Trump is.
"election results are going to take a long time to figure out" and "election results are suspect" are not the same thing and you're deliberately bullshitting by conflating them and validating the suspicions.
the correct answer to when some idiot with a twitter account and an oval-shaped office yells "if the result isn't known election night it's corrupt!" is to say "no it isn't." anything else and you are the culprit in the "ugliness."
and the correct answer to "there could be a lot of problems in the post-election period" is "let's make a good-faith attempt to solve them in advance to the extent possible."
