. @BarackObama, delivering a eulogy for John Lewis, assails politicians who release statements calling him a hero while blocking a restoration of the Voting Rights Act. “You want to honor John? Let’s honor him by revitalizing the law that he was willing to die for.”
President Obama just endorsed these ideas:

—Restore Voting Rights Act
—Auto register all Americans to vote
—Voting rights for former inmates
—Add polling places
—Expand early voting
—Make Election Day a holiday
—Equal representation for DC & Puerto Rico
—End gerrymandering
"And if all this takes eliminating the filibuster, another Jim Crow relic, in order to secure the God given rights of every American, then that's what we should do," @BarackObama says. https://twitter.com/sahilkapur/status/1288903941351145478
Obama makes a point you don't hear political leaders make often: that voter suppression laws aren't the only reason for non-voting, that many people are just apathetic.

"We've got to be honest with ourselves that too many of us choose not to exercise the franchise," he says.
While @BarackObama calls for ending the filibuster if necessary to restore the Voting Rights Act, it's worth noting that @JoeBiden's position is that he's still opposed to eliminating the 60-vote rule (although he recently tied its outcome to GOP actions, opening the door a bit).
