From the beginning, our response to this pandemic has been guided by data and science—that hasn’t changed. That’s why today I signed an statewide emergency order requiring folks ages five and over to wear masks or face coverings in public spaces with some limited exceptions.
That announcement is available here: https://content.govdelivery.com/accounts/WIGOV/bulletins/2980ec0
Wearing a face covering is a simple act of kindness and can save lives, helping to protect your family, friends, neighbors, and our frontline workers from this deadly virus. My mask protects you, your mask protects me, and our masks work best when we both wear them together.
This is another tool in the toolbox in reducing the spread of COVID-19, and the sooner we work together to box in this virus, the sooner we can get back to work, school, sports, restaurants, and get our state and our economy back on the right track.
Let’s work together to ensure our public health efforts are successful. Learn more about the new requirements and what it means for you at the FAQ document available here: https://bit.ly/30dOs2H
