A #thread about the German fashion company Hugo Boss.
Hugo Boss AG, often styled as BOSS, is a German luxury fashion house headquartered in Metzingen, Baden-Württemberg. The company produces clothing, accessories, footwear and fragrances. It is one of the biggest German clothing companies, with global sales of €2.9 billion in 2019.
But the origins of Hugo Boss are not quite as pleasant.

The founder, Hugo Boss was born in 1885 in Germany
Years prior to Adolf becoming its leader, he was already an active member of the Nazi party. He also was a chief manufacturer and designer of Nazi uniforms.

He even had a 1934 Collection that he distributed to German Forces, and to nazi youth.
Nazi Youth Uniforms:
He was immersed in every ugly aspect of the Nazi Machine, utilizing hundreds of slave laborers to make his clothing.

This included keeping them in terrible living quarters, with little health considerations, and them being malnourished.
Hugo was a powerful and influential figure within the Nazi party.

This wasn’t lost upon outsiders after the war. As he faced legal troubles, though escaped the major wrath of it all.
He died just after the war, and his son in law took over the company.

They quickly began flourishing as a manufacturer of men’s suits. And here we are today, with an ultra-famous brand, that was a huge nazi brand.
If you take away the nazi symbols and separate yourself from that fact their history, you can actually see how his fashion sense was pretty good for that time period. They did indeed look rather dapper.
The Nazis were quite ruthless with the drip.
Here we see where MC Hammer got his fashion inspiration.
This fashion is also what inspired the Imperial Forces uniforms in the star wars movies.

Bad as they were, at least they did one thing right.
