My first article was published last week and got some attention in the press and I was thrilled. I got plenty of positive feedback, but also plenty of negative, including people (men) sending me articles to read to show me how I was wrong. But yesterday...

I got a message from someone who said their student had seen the article and wanted to talk about it and it had left a meaningful impression on them, to see someone doing this work. It felt so good to have that concrete reminder of what (I think, at least) we do this for.
Obviously I think I make a plausible argument about the ramps, and nothing changes about my argument if it is a regional phenomwnon (you still have to explain why 11 at one site, when others in the region have 0-1)...
but what I want is for people to consider disability as a potentially relevant factor, and not just in architectural studies. Even if it's determined that disability isn't relevant, it should be considered and studied, not assumed.
Anyway, let's send more positivity like that when we read something we are excited by, etc. Not to me, I just mean in general. Scholarship isn't just about being right, it's moving forward a conversation and you don't have to agree w/someone to recognize their contribution.
Also please stop sending me bibliography! I can't add it now, I don't have time to read it, and I have other things I want to get attention for on Twitter.
(The last one is just for random men who want to prove me wrong. I mostly like getting bib recs otherwise.)
