There are moments in time and sometimes those moments go on to become monumental occasions in the history of mankind, either good or bad. And very rarely, there are people who recognize the magnitude of those moments which eventually become consigned to the history books.
Examples that instantly spring to mind are Bismarck predicting World War I, George Washington averting a mutiny of the Continental Army just in time, Churchill berating that "child, that corporal" we now know as Adolf Hitler, Eqbal Ahmed predicting that Osama will turn on the US.
So it might be with the monumental rise of the BJP in India, its machinations in Kashmir, the CAA NRC and now, the new policy on education. This is particularly important and make no mistake, one must be amply prescient when understanding the implications of it.
This new policy not only seeks to promote a virulent, hateful breed of exclusion, supremacy and insidious casteist attitudes but also cement very prevalent attitudes among the masses and at the same time, harkens back to the good ol' days.
Implicitly, such a policy will only benefit the privileged, upper-caste of the Indian nation but also cause a return to form for the persistent shadow that the destructive caste system casts upon the Indian nation. The feeling of national unity within India has been fragile.
This policy will only serve to further fuel casteism and promote regionalism. From one of its founders touting that the Indian union must move forth into a brave new world world with a "scientific temper", India is returning to the Middle Ages.
Perhaps this is exactly how it was when Adolf Hitler's propaganda minister, Joseph Goebbels, promoted education that laid emphasis on building a national identity of the Aryan race but also demean those they considered outsiders, infiltrators and traitors.
The Muslim does not factor into the equation since he is already an invader who must either submit or return to the way of his presupposed Hindu ancestors.

And perhaps in a world and time ahead of us, there will be a chapter in the history books on this, more vows will be taken - never again will be said while only returning to the same vicious cycle.
