I'm not saying eat meat is haram

but it's quite foolish to believe your character/thought process is not affected by eating factory farmed meat

or it's a sign of being heedless of what youre consuming

plus the effects on the workers and communities is shocking
Upton Sinclair wrote a book called the jungle in 1910swhich highlighted the disgusting things that happened in meatpacking industries

the response led to outcry about consumers vs caring about the animals and the workers
