Both Luther and Calvin teach a basic gender hierarchy as a part of their complementarianism, yet they both also reject the "vulgar" saying that woman is an incomplete or marred version of man.

They both teach that woman's difference is *good* and that she was made to fill up what was lacking in man. They also teach that woman's calling is to be a help to man, and that this means his family and household, but they deny that this is restricted to procreation.
The family is the first society, and so the woman is a whole-life help to man, to assist him in all of his work.

Than man has priority of rank and leadership. This is what it means to be head. And yet, the woman is *his* body, and so his calling & work must be for her benefit.
Sin has made this arrangement difficult, full of conflict and resentment, but Calvin and Luther say that this order must not be subverted but rather restored to its original harmonious arrangement. in Christ.
