1) Think there's pay equity right now? Here's a picture worth 1,000+ words. (Reminder: These are adults ages 18 to 64 nationwide.)
2) Roughly 50% of Black and Latinx women ages 18 to 64 can't afford to pay for basic needs right now - like food and housing.
3) 55% of Black women and 60% of Latinx women have less than $200 in savings right now - v. 27% of white men.
4) How does one survive or come out of these crises with only $200 in savings? Here's what Black and Latinx women in the workforce say they need - in ADDITION to a good-paying job.
5) The toll of COVID-19 on Latinx women is unparalleled, stark, and acute (Latinx women are paid 54 cents per $1 paid to white men).
6) Black women are among the hardest hit by pay inequities - and most likely to identify underlying causes (Black women are paid 62 cents per $1 paid to white men).
7) Surprisingly, majorities of women and sizable portions of men can see systemic and cultural drivers at play. Look at responses to the top v. bottom reason.
8) About 45% of women ages 18 to 64 are feeling "panic or severe anxiety" on a daily or weekly basis since the pandemic hit. A similar proportion reports feeling depressed or hopeless.
9) Many men are also struggling. One in four men (24%) says they've cried themselves to sleep at least once since COVID-19 (44% of women). 41% of fathers of color said they've cried themselves to sleep at least once. Also, this:
10) Women are more likely than men to have felt "rage" toward their spouse or partner since COVID-19 hit - likely due to disparate pressures.
11) One in three Latinx women, Latinx men, and Black men have felt unsafe around their partner at least once during the pandemic.
12) Back to pay inequities. 58% of women have faced one or more gender or race-based obstacles to pay equity.
13) We have not yet solved discrimination in hiring practices.
14) Nor unpaid labor disparities.
