Chelsea Player Rankings 💙💪

All Chelsea players are given a rank within the squad where 1 is best for a range of stats.

Each statistic has been converted to average per appearance so injuries are not penalised too highly.

Few comments on what we can see below.
Each summer I take a bit of time to compare Chelsea players over a range of stats more out of curiosity than anything else.

The last few seasons I've been prettying the tables up because I needed a Twitter header, so why not post it as well!

There's a couple things of interest
Alonso

Are we actually surprised that a defender who has never been told he's a defender scores well in the Fantasy? 5.56 points per appearance comfortably beats his nearest rival, Pulisic, at 5.08.

Unsurprisingly average defensive stats but promising threat and creativity ones
Giroud and Tammy

Abraham's strong start to the season and a weak finish means his averages per appearance are near identical to Girouds

However, Giroud's has been penalised by more cameos, suggesting his has performed far better

Abraham avg minutes per app = 67.7
Giroud = 56.8
Ruben Loftus-Cheek

It's pretty unfair to compare RLC's stats due to how few minutes he got (and spread over too many appearances), but whilst these rankings paint him in a bad light, the raw data isn't much better.

A step down from last season, but to be expected.
Hudson-Odoi

One of the bigger surprises of this is how well CHO comes out in the Creativity stats.

Why a surprise? Well, he's statting pretty well despite an absolutely measly 43.1 minutes per app on average, in comparison to Willian's 75.8.
CHO Pt 2

If we change our data from average per appearance to average per 90, CHO absolutely rockets up

🥇Assists (0.47 compared to Willian 0.23 who's 5th)
🥇Big Chances Created (0.57 compared to Willian 0.4 who's 2nd)
🥉Chances Created (1.9 compared to Willian 2.47 who's 1st)
Pulisic

Despite a unremarkable 71 mins per app on average, Christian Pulisic absolutely dominates across the board.

He struggled for parts of this season but (partly in thanks to some good man management by Lampard) he's come back strong and will be a serious FPL consideration
Kepa

Oh Kepa. Obviously he doesn't fit into the above rankings, so he gets his own with all the other PL keepers that have played over 700 minutes (just to give him a chance by including Gunn 😉)

I'll save your breath - it's not good.

World's most expensive keeper by the way.
