I didn’t have Glendon for property but I did sit in on her property class during the “fly-up” weekend for admitted students in 2002. I will never forget it. 1/ https://twitter.com/WorldWideWillJo/status/1288832540095193091
In the middle of a discussion on marital property, a third of the class walked out to participate in a protest of the law school’s response to a student using racial slurs in a shared class outline. 2/
Glendon, without missing a beat, pivoted into an inspirational speech on her own participation in the 60s civil rights movement, the progress that had been made, and the work that still needed to be done. 3/
She ended with confidence that we could unite to address today’s problems and continue to work to ensure equality under the law for all Americans. Right as the bell rang. It was a tour de force that cemented my desire to go to law school. We need more Glendons today. 4/4
