We have a term: kitchen-sinking. It's when you get a complaint from the wrong person & they go all in. No water offered at their first meeting, employee pointed a foot towards them (actual complaint), everything. The WE scandal has hit the kitchen-sinking stage.
But while people are now talking about WE's staff contracts, no one is talking about what went on in Kenya. @JesseBrown brought it up here: https://twitter.com/JesseBrown/status/1288674480613666816 . This pic is from last summer, that's the First Lady of Kenya with three people you may recognize.
At the same time, WE was bringing people to open a college in rural Kenya, they were facing serious management issues on the ground. They've said police were involved - charges are pending. There's a death threat made on tape.
I know ppl in Kenya, I have staff there. It's accessible, modern, English-speaking - with lots of Kenyans here on Twitter, and freelance journalists etc... why has there been NO reporting from Kenya on this stuff? Instead it's just all these local petty kitchen-sinking stories.
