Having studied in an English medium school, a classmate took admission in the local Govt. Engg College and found that the maths teacher preferred to teach in Chhattisgarhi, complete bouncer for a Maharashtrian boy (1/3)
Even if this was a one off and not a policy issue, who do you blame in this situation? The Engg books were in English but the teacher was teaching in a language which is technically the regional language. However, it was not taught in schools back then (2/3)
On the other end of that spectrum were students who had studied in Hindi medium schools and now struggled if the subjects were taught in English. Despite blips, Hindi in this situation could have been an agreeable middle ground but exams were conducted in English. Mess (3/3)
