1/another long thread i just posted to most likely deaf ears on fb, this time addressing the people who are saying that facebook banned the american frontline doctors' video because they don't want you to "know the truth."

2/one piece that seems to just be ignored is how far right facebook filters tilt. they said in october that they will let trump lie in his campaign ads. that is insanely irresponsible. on the other side, i routinely see posts from liberal outlets flagged/removed.

3/the band cake posts a ton of liberal political content on their fb page and at one point they got a notice saying their page was in danger of being unpublished. meidas touch makes anti-trump videos and fb temporarily unpublished their page within the last week.

4/so...when a hard core conservative outlet like facebook pulls down the american frontline doctor's video, it has to be really fucking egregiously incorrect. if trump can lie at will on facebook,

5/if libs legit content gets pulled on the reg, then take note when a conservative video gets taken down. it was alt-right "news" outlet breitbart who had a reporter on the scene and filmed that video.

6/fb didn't pull it bc they don't want you 2 know the truth. think about how fucking stupid that is. the video falsely says there's a cure for covid. but, fb doesn't want you 2 know about it? fb wants to kill you? the far right social media outlet is hiding life-saving content...

7/...from its conservative base? come on.

the reality is the fda hasn't approved hydroxychloroquine to treat covid. dr fauci is one of the world's foremost infectious disease experts. he agrees. the benefits of the drug are marginal at best.

8/but, it's the potential dangers that are the real problem. and facebook, to their credit, responsibly sided with good science, pulling the video.

9/for twitter eye's only: as i was editing this for twitter, it dawned on me...i just complemented fb. but, they're still on trump's side. maybe pulling the video was designed to draw more attention to it, amplifying the pro-trump message and giving fb undeserved credibility.
