BU is the alternate universe created by BTS that appears in many of their music videos and is part of their songs as well as albums in the form of HYYH notes. This story was revealed from I NEED U but the BU story actually starts even way before it.

SEOKJIN'S PAST

1. SJ had controlling father. His parents were strict & punished him with silence.

Jul 21 Year 12: His mother had passed away & his father had sent him off to his grandma's in the US & didn't see him off at the airport. SJ was upset.

NAMJOON'S PAST

2. NJ grew up in poverty and had to work from a very early age to run his household by himself as his father fell sick & mother lost her job. He went to school and then worked to distribute fliers. He considered 'poverty' a sin.

YOONGI'S PAST

3. Yoongi loved playing the piano but his mother was a perfectionist & he didn't like it. YG loved his mother as she supported him making music but his family hated it. On Sep 19 Year 16, his house had caught on fire but he realised his mother was inside too late.

HOSEOK'S PAST

4. HS has trauma associated with counting and passes out on counting as it reminds him when at an amusement park, his mother had handed him a chocolate bar and asked him to count to 10 & never came back. He grew up in an orphanage.

TAEHYUNG'S PAST

5. TH's drunk father beats him and his elder sister up since a very young age to take out his built up anger (prob due to TH's mother). His sister does her best to protect Taehyung from him. Taehyung hates it that he is so helpless.

JIMIN'S PAST

6. On Apr 6 Year 11, Jimin was at the Grass Flower Arboretum for a school picnic. It started raining, he got lost & hurt his leg. He found the back gate of the arboretum & went into the warehouse. Nobody knows what happened here, but he got a very severe trauma +
+ that ended up him getting seizures from time to time (It's my personal theory he has epileptic seizures). His parents would change schools to protect their reputation whenever JM got a seizure. Hoseok saw JM getting a seizure later on.

JUNGKOOK'S PAST

7. Jungkook saw his father give up on him & his mother and leave forever. JK realised he couldn't be the reason for his father to endure it all for him.
JK's mother later on married someone & JK felt like an outcast in that family.

SEOKJIN

His father makes him come back to Korea and sends SJ to the same school he studied (this is an important fact!)
The principal uses SJ against his will to spy on students. Seokjin has no choice and his father lets all of this happen.

YOONGI

During the summer, the boys debated where to go to hang out when Taehyung suggested they go to that place in the signpost: Grass Flower Arboretum. Yoongi said they should to go to the sea instead. YG noticed Jimin froze and turned ashen on seeing the sign.
