John Lewis announces it will look to expand into:

:: Private rented affordable housing using spare space and old stores đŸ€Ż
:: A gardening business which could including nurseries and landscaping.
:: A special channel to rent John Lewis products and sell on second hand items.
More John Lewis stores will get a Waitrose - and Waitroses will sell JL products (they already do click+collect).

There will be more affordable ‘entry point’ prices in department stores and 'more space given over to experiences'.

Never Knowingly Undersold remains under review.
Chair Dame Sharon White expects John Lewis to be a 60% online retailer, up from 40% pre-Covid-19...

Waitrose to rise above 20%, from 5%, as its deal with Ocado ends in September. Delivery capacity is up from 60,000 slots/week pre-crisis to 160,000 now, with target of 250,000.

You have to question whether JL would spend many ÂŁms to turn four-storey department stores into flats when it's not a core proposition.

John Lewis say these are just ideas for now, and discussions with potential partners are ongoing.
