The concept of nationalism is one of the biggest hurdles against Ghar Wapsi of Muslims & hence a hurdle in solving the Muslim question. This is a flaw not of seculars but of Hindutva supporters.

Let's look at the examples of Faiz or Kalam & see reasons of their fame.
Let's accept the harsh fact. Both Faiz and Kalam are so famous only because of their religion. So many great Hindu cow protectors and actual Rambhaktas and so many great Hindu scientists but these two get the limelight for being a Muslim and having a nationalist outlook.
If they do Ghar Wapsi, would they get any limelight ? They would be like an average Hindu who lived and died a normal life. Faiz would be like one of those nameless Karsewak who died in 1990 or Kalam would be one of those Indian scientists who mysteriously died.
Why would any Muslim do Ghar Wapsi ? They can just go to temple once in a blue moon, wear saffron some times and call themselves a Rambhakta in front of people and they would get instant fame from Hindutva supporters. Doing Ghar Wapsi decreases their public value exponentially.
Is Tareke Fatah the greatest intellectual born ever or is Irfan Khan the greatest actor born or is AR Rehman the greatest composer born ever ? No,they aren't that great in their fields,so many Hindus outperform them but why do we care about Hindus ? We only care about non-Hindus.
We are so petty people that if a western scientist or artist praises Bhagwad Geeta or Yoga and not even from a religious point of view, we will make him close to a God. As if Bhagwad Geeta was an ordinary book or Yoga any less beneficial without a westerner praising it.
Stop looking for validation from outsiders. No one respects people who can't even respect themselves. Let PR not be our oxygen. What's better than standing up as Hindus and being proud of it ? Does Hinduism become bad if no non-Hindu praises it ? Is being a proud Hindu a sin ?
