Collective efforts of 3 websites - Let India Breathe, @Fridays4future, and @ThereIsNoEarthB , poured myriad of objections against draft EIA 2020 in Prakash Javdekar’s office.

Upon which he decided to file a complaint against the sites that made public consultation possible 2/9
July 8 - Delhi Police (Cyber Crime Unit) issued notice to FFF India under India's anti-terror law - Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (LIB was blocked since June 29)
July 16 - Delhi police unblocked the sites claiming inadvertent error after receiving severe criticisms. 3/9
Mar 12 - The draft was put in the public domain by MoEFCC with a time period of 60 days for views and comments from all stakeholders.

The draft favored industries, weakened the 2006 version, legitimized work without clearance, violated the right of public consultation. 4/9
Environmentalists got public consultation period extended twice - June 30 & August 11.
Delhi HC ordered the MoEFCC to publish the draft EIA 2020 in 22 official languages to ensure wider participation. K'nataka HC warned tht it may stay the notification if the cond. is nt met. 5/9
During the extended consultation period, experts, activists, non-governmental organizations, & collectives such as these 3 upped the ante against the draft EIA 2020 and mobilized public support against it providing ways to reach out to the government. 6/9

Fridays 4 Future India is yet to get any official response from Delhi Police about the withdrawal of notice and while its website or of other collectives have been unblocked, activists claim that the sites continue to remain inaccessible on certain ISPs. 8/9

"Though our website is back online there is still a lot of uncertainty as there are reports about it being blocked by some Internet Service Providers,” Krupa Hebbar, FFF-India volunteer.

There are over 10,000 volunteers connected to the FFF India in over 60 Indian cities. 9/9
