Brief reminder, given an author/book we won't mention:

- Unless you've sought testing for it, you don't know what sex chromosomes you have.

- You can be carrying multiple different DNA codes in your body. Your spit could have one code, your hair another

- Genetics isn't simple

- Trans women are women. Trans men are men. Trans nonbinary folks are real and valid. Nonbinary folks who don't ID as trans are real and valid.

- A trans woman is biologically a woman. The word you want "really." You're trying to say they're not "really" women. And fuck you.

- Intersex people exist. We have no idea how many people are intersex, because you can live your whole life without knowing it. You might be intersex.

- 1-1.7% of people are intersex. About as many as have red hair, or green eyes. Red hair is "normal." So are intersex bodies.

- Gender is not sex.

- Neither sex nor gender exist on a binary.

- Nor do "male" and "female" exist as opposite ends of a two-dimensional spectrum.

- People are complicated.

I don't know how basic this needs to get, so I'll end with this:

I'm a cis dude, which just means that the doctor said I was male and I happen to still agree.

I only know any of the above from a) being scientifically literate, but more importantly, b) listening to people, and acknowledging them as the sole authority of their own experience.

I also know this:

"Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof."

Being a human is hard enough. Trying to create an authentic existence is hard enough. Paying the goddamn rent is hard enough.

Don't make it harder for people.
